Today has been a nice day off. I have literally done nothing! I watched some tv and a couple of films, played with my puppy and kitties and then ate ice cream whilst watching Catfish: The TV Show. Perfect!

Today I went to the dentist for an appointment about my toothache. I'm to go back next Friday to have a repair to a filling done and hopefully it should be all sorted. I'm glad it's only repair work cos I'm not a huge fan of the dentist and didn't want anything complicated done. We also had a nice walk and a pub tea with my Dad so we made the most of the sunshine.

Today seemed to be quite a long day but it also seemed to go fast! We took Stark on his first walk and he was so good! He was a bit confused and apprehensive at first but then he seemed to really enjoy it. He needs a harness and a stretchy lead as I don't want to let him off whilst he isn't trained but he trips us up with his running back and forth whilst on the rope lead.

Over the last couple of days Asami has started drinking out of our night time glass of water! I have no idea why, she's never done it in all the time we've had her, but I suspect it saves her a trip downstairs to her bowl! Draco has also been having a go, but tends to get a bit too close to be sniffing it and get water up his nose! It's so cute!

Today we came back home from our holiday. We called at Stratford on the way back to do a bit of shopping; we saw Shakespeare's birth place and stocked up at the sweet shop! When we got home I was super glad to see my kitty cats and they seemed pleased to see us. There's nothing like sleeping in your own bed with your beautiful kitties to demand attention at 5am!

Today has been a shit day. But also a good day as I'm relieved to be out of a bad situation. I'm amazed by how nasty and childish people in 'management' positions can be. But I'm better than that, I refuse to be rude and insulting even if I'm treated like that by these people. At least I can say that I've always been professional.

Today took a trip to a couple of local animal rescue places to find out more about volunteering. I'm hoping that we hear back soon as I'm really desperate to start gaining experience. I was very tempted to adopt a dog or another cat, but none were really suited to us and our existing pets if I'm honest. Very sad to see so many unwanted animals who are just desperate for a home.

Today I've been exhausted! I think the rush of xmas has finally caught up with me as I've been asleep since 7pm and still want to be alseep now! Today was xmas day and it has been a very tiring one! We got some really nice presents, mostly money and bits for the house and we ate far, far too much. It's an early night for us as we're off furniture shopping in the sales first thing in the morning. The kitties also seem exhausted by the evening visitors (the boy's family) so we have a nice quiet house for a change.

Today we fully moved into our new house! It's really nice and it's starting to sink in that its really ours. Kitties are having a good explore and seem to like it. They've found their tower and mastered the stairs so they're happy enough.

Today we bought a washer-dryer from Comet and our sofas from DFS! We chose a model up from the washer-dryer that we have in the flat (which isn't ours) and saved £150! For our sofas, we chose a 4 seater Nikkita and the matching cuddle sofa. The cuddle sofa is just a huge chair basically and I can't wait to get it! We chose a nice charcoal grey colour and it has chrome legs, so it's comfy yet doesn't take up too much space. Today is also the first time we've caught the kittens sleeping so close together too!

Today I don't feel ill anymore! Yay! I am still extremely tired though. I'm only doing a short shift tomorrow and don't start until 1pm so hopefully I'll have some time to relax in the morning and have a bit of a lie in. We've finally got a completion date on the buying of the house, so this week we're signing more documents and finally handing over the remainder of the money to make it officially ours! We're also going to go scrounging for bargains at Comet since it's fallen on bad times and is closing down. For now though, I'm just having Draco cuddles.

So today was day 30 and my last day before a day off!! Hallelujah! I can't wait to just take it easy! Although it's looking like I have to do the big shop tomorrow which is depressing. The cats have been fighting like crazy this evening. I can't quite tell if it's playing or actually fighting. Asami has been jumping on Draco and tackling him. He's been making growling sounds but keeps going looking for her. They're mad! We've had to seperate them until they calm down or someone loses an eye. Draco already scratched me on the face earlier because he thought I was Asami.

So today we gave kitty a name! He's now called Draco, I personally just love the name! It means a few different things in different contexts. For example, it Latin it is used to reference to a dragon and in Greek it refers to a large serpent. Draco was also the first lawmaker in Ancient Athens in 650BC and he imposed extremely harsh, severe laws which is where the term Draconian Law comes from. It also refers to a constellation of stars in the shape of a snake. Draco is also the name of a character in the Harry Potter series.

The most interesting reference that I could find however, is that Draco is one of the names of the hounds in Ancient Greek mythology. The basic story, although there are several versions, see Actaeon come across the beautiful woman, Artemis, bathing in the woods whilst out hunting. Artemis is often described as the goddess of the hunt, wild animals, the wilderness, virginity and childbirth, and in Classic Greek mythology she is Zeus and Leto's daughter and sister of Apollo. After Artemis catches Actaeon staring at her naked body, she forbids him to speak. He sees his hunt party in the distance and tries to cry out to them, but by speaking, breaks Artemis' command and turns into a stag. His dogs (sometimes told as Artemis' dogs) then not recognising them as their master proceed to attack and maul him to death, devouring him as they would any wild animal.

Today we got a new baby! A gorgeous little black kitten. He's only 9 weeks old, the same age we got Asami at and we're hoping they'll be playmates. So far Asami is trying to establish her dominance and keeps hissing at him and trying to bop him. We stop her when he's being harassed but when they're apart they're fine. He's already really confident and cuddly; he's sat next to me in bed having a snuggle and keeps climbing onto my chest and shoulders. He's got beautiful eyes, they're a grey-blue-green kind of colour which is lovely. It's difficult to get a nice photo as he's all black and tends to look like a blob or a shadow. He doesn't have a name yet as we're still deciding!

Today I went to Bents Garden Center with my Mum and Step Dad. I didn't know but it was actually their official opening of the xmas decorations whilst we were there. There was a town crier and a Santa Claus and a super tanned Mrs Claus! I really like Bents at xmas, I love their trees and how nice they look caked full of decorations. I've decided for our first xmas in our apartment that I was an ice blue, white and silver theme. We also stopped in their cafe to get a cake. I had hot chocolate with a slice of coffee cake, which was really nice, but I couldn't finish it it was so rich!

Reason: I've started to listen to Classical FM a lot more whilst I'm driving as I find it relaxing and can help me to develop my creative thoughts a lot further. Plus this features heavily in A Clockwork Orange which is one of my favourite films.
