Photo Every Day #17

Today I have just been in agony with my shoulder, it seems to hurt every time I have to cough, which is a heck of a lot on a good day nevermind when I have a cold/chest infection! However, I went into job 1 today to drop off some presents for one of my friends who's leaving. We surprised her with some boots she was after for ages. She'd reserved them but before she could buy them another friend came in, she bought them (as a gift for the one who's leaving)! When she came to the till to pick her reserved boots they were gone! We all managed to fib to her and tell her they'd been recalled. She was heartbroken the poor girl! But it was worth it to see her caught off guard when she opened the box. I also discovered a new place to eat. It's called Bap and is round the corner from both of my jobs. It's like a home made version of Subway really, it sells made to order sandwiches. The girl recommended we tried the bbq sweet chilli chicken which was amazing! I will definitely be going there more often.

Today was xmas day and it has been a very tiring one! We got some really nice presents, mostly money and bits for the house and we ate far, far too much. It's an early night for us as we're off furniture shopping in the sales first thing in the morning. The kitties also seem exhausted by the evening visitors (the boy's family) so we have a nice quiet house for a change.

So today I finally started my xmas shopping! Mostly just for the boy's family so far but it's still a start!! We're trying to do all our xmas shopping on a super tight budget this year since we're still in the process of buying the house so I'm feeling a bit like I'm doing a bad job. I usually spent more time thinking about what to get but as I'm limited by cost and time I feel I've picked rather bland gifts! Still, hopefully they'll at least get used or appreciated.

Today we went looking at houses on a development I liked the look of. I've fallen in love with the houses already! So I'm determined to start some major saving. Since xmas is coming up and it's always an expensive time of year, I'm going to try and make as many people as I can presents, most of which I'm guessing will be photographs in various forms. I'm also going to start making our traditional 'cheesy, terrible family photo' cards. Last year it only featured me and Steven but this year I want to at least include Asami if not more of the zoo!

Today I decided to try and take a photo based on symmetry. Below is my attempt! The line of symmetry is straight through the middle of the photo. It's the top of our radiator (which I've noticed looks a bit grubby), which I've tried to make look as though it's vanishing into the distance. I like how one side of the radiator has come up lighter and the other one dark, it gives more contrast and makes  the symmetry rows stand out more.

Christmas

So another xmas season has come and gone. Same as ever; same routine (get up, breakfast, open presents, take presents to room, wait around, eat dinner, put presents away) and similar gifts (jewellery, bath stuff, bags etc).

I definately feel that working in retail and having 'xmas offer now on' and hearing xmas songs in mid November has made me tire of this holiday very quickly. No wonder people lose their xmas spirit when they have to maintain it for several weeks!

However, I have recently discovered Instagram and I am in love! Hence the following photos with lovely Instagram filters! I have also ordered some extension tubes for my Canon and am hoping to take some nice macro shots (probably of my geckos) as soon as it gets here.
