Photo Every Day #264

Today Stark was being extra annoying as he was attempting to crawl all over me and was barking at every piece of fluff whilst I was trying to do college work. I managed to get some done but it would have been a lot easier in a library with no animals!!! In other news, the fish are now eating really well and seem a lot more active. The water is still really green and cloudy but fingers crossed a few more water changes will do it.

Big Fish:

Song Of The Day: Goo Goo Dolls - Iris

Reason: One of my favourite songs, so easy to relate to.

Highlight Of The Day: Watching Starky run for his ball. He's so fast now!

Inspiration Of The Day:

I started re-reading one of my Point Horror books, Homecoming Queen. I love how American, cheesy and unrealistic they are.

Tonight was filled with Tuesday cuddles! Lovely.

Tuesday Cuddles:

Song Of The Day: Rachael Yamagata - Faster

Reason: Love her calming voice, beautiful!

Highlight Of The Day: Seeing Tuesday settle in better.

Inspiration Of The Day: The Citrus Zinger. Makes water more fun!

Photo Every Day #237

The ratties love their new hammocks and I love the colour! I like them to have comfortable beds that keep them warm. They look so cute all snuggled together in them!

Ratty Hammock:

Song Of The Day: Uberbyte - The Black Classroom

Reason: One of their best songs in my opinion!

Highlight Of The Day: Relaxing with my puppy.

Inspiration Of The Day: Cyber Candy. Best candy shop ever!

Photo Every Day #199

Today has been really productive. We got loads done at work, looked up things for the future and finished it off with a relaxing walk with Stark. We also have our new rat cage set up. It's just over 5 foot tall and a couple of feet wide! It's great as they can properly run about and make the most of all the levels. They seemed to have settled in. The photo has cropped out about another half a foot off the bottom, just so you have an idea how tall it really is!

Tall Tower:

Song Of The Day: Emily Browning - Asleep

Reason: This is from the Sucker Punch soundtrack, it's really atmospheric and reminds me a little of the Donnie Darko score.

Highlight Of The Day: Learning more stuff for work.

Inspiration Of The Day: People who take your advice about pet foods, treats, care etc and it has a positive effect. It's nice to know I'm making a difference.

Photo Every Day #166

Today the boy had a battle with hayfever. Hayfever won. His eye has puffed up and forced his eye closed, it looks terrible! I've never seen anything like it! It looks like the photos in magazine stories where people have bad reactions to hair dye. The moral of the story is don't walk the dog through fields when you've not taken  anti-histamines!

Song Of The Day: Foo Fighters - Monkey Wrench

Reason: Classic song!

Highlight Of The Day: A fast day at work.

Inspiration Of The Day: People who want the best nutrition for their pets. These are the people whose pets are truly family members rather than pets.

Photo Every Day #143

Today I worked and then went to help with a bit of cleaning at the boy's Mum's house. We followed it up with a nice KFC which was a good end to a pretty ok day.

Princess Pixie:

Song Of The Day: Oasis - Stop Crying Your Heart Out
Reason: One of my favourite songs.

Highlight Of The Day: KFC with the in-laws.

Inspiration Of The Day: I've been hearing a lot about 3D printing and it looks pretty cool! This dress worn by Dita Von Teese is beautiful!

Photo Every Day #95

Over the last couple of days Asami has started drinking out of our night time glass of water! I have no idea why, she's never done it in all the time we've had her, but I suspect it saves her a trip downstairs to her bowl! Draco has also been having a go, but tends to get a bit too close to be sniffing it and get water up his nose! It's so cute!

Glass Of Water:

Song Of The Day: Blink 182 - What's My Age?
Reason: Childish and fun! Being in your 20s is rubbish when you have to act adult all the time!

Highlight Of The Day: Kitty cuddles.

Inspiration Of The Day: The artistic nudes of Ivan Pinkava

Photo Every Day #92

Today was day two of my new job. I'm still loving it! Today we got a fish delivery, so we had to go through a process to settle the fish into their new tanks in store. The fish were really striking, especially the 4 Chinese fighting fish that came in. There were also some teeny, tiny frogs and a black axolotl. I'm definitely be doing more research into fish as they're really interesting and they're something I don't really know a lot about. When I got home, Asami acted strange all evening. She constantly meowed for food, even though she'd had her tea already, which is really unlike her. I hope she's just having a funny day rather than feeling unwell.

Watching. Waiting:

Song Of The Day: Will Smith - Gettin' Jiggy Wit It.
Reason: Such an amazing song! Still so good now, it hasn't aged at all! I remember having it on tape.

Highlight Of The Day: Spending time around the fish.

Inspiration Of The Day: The axolotl. It has the ability to regenerate it's limbs!

Photo Every Day #91

Today was my first day at my new job! I've started working at a nearby pet store and I already love it! The people are really nice, which was one of the main reasons that I applied in the first place. I'm already a regular customer and I really like their friendly, helpful attitudes and they have such a lot of knowledge about the products they sell. I've been learning the basics today but I've already learnt so much about pet nutrition that I didn't know! After some more in depth training tomorrow I'll write a post about what I've learnt about pet foods. Today's PED is of the new feed chart the boy made for the cats, so that they're not getting two breakfasts!

Feed Chart:

Song Of The Day: Olly Murs - Troublemaker
Reason: Love him!

Highlight Of The Day: Nice day meeting new people.

Inspiration Of The Day: Jasmine Polsinelli, the 11year old who protests against the use of fur.

Crufts 2013

I've never been to Crufts before nor have I even watched it on tv properly. Since we've been talking about getting a dog I thought it'd be a good idea to go somewhere to look at different breeds and find out some more information first hand. I really enjoyed the day, tickets were only £14 each so I felt we really got value for money.

French Bulldog Kisses:

Today has been an amusing day. Asami and Klaus both decided to pull cute little 'superhero to the rescue' type poses. So cute!!

Pets Pretending To Be Superheroes:

Song Of The Day: Filthy Boy - Waiting On The Doorstep
Reason: Not usually what I like, but quite enjoyed my first listen to it.

Highlight Of The Day: Draco cuddles. I love it when I feel his warm breath on my face. A sign of a real cuddle.

Inspiration Of The Day: The beautiful model Robyn Lawley. She's the first plus sized model to be picked for Ralph Lauren, one of my favourite designers. She's lovely and has a stunning figure, so in my book that makes her a good image role model!

Photo Every Day #69

Today has been a fairly lazy day. We got to watch the end of Crufts 2013 but none of my favourites won sadly! I should be doing a spot of filming tomorrow so more of an update on my next post!

Mother's Day:

Song Of The Day: Rhianna - Stay
Reason: Stuck in my head! Really not a fan of her ballad style stuff as it just feels insincere, but I do like this song for a couple of it's lyrics.

Highlight Of The Day: Some me time.

Inspiration Of The Day: The Costumer's Guide - Unfortunate Events. I wish that Colleen Atwood could come and make all my clothes for me!

Photo Every Day #62

Klaus-y has taken to sitting in his nest with his arm or arms sticking straight out. It looks like he's trying to get out but is too tubby! Super cute!

Fatty:

Song Of The Day: One Direction - Kiss You
Reason: Not a huge 1D fan or anything, but this song is rather catchy!

Highlight Of The Day: Joaquin Phoenix in Signs. Yum.

Inspiration Of The Day: Hopefully getting a new opportunity. Makes me want to keep going.

Photo Every Day #45

Happy Valentines Day!!

Valentines Treats:

Song Of The Day: Nicole Scherzinger - Poison
Reason: Amazing dance song and Nicole is one of the most beautiful women on the planet by far.

Highlight Of The Day: Seeing the cats stalking Pixie when she came to visit.

Inspiration Of The Day: Seeing my cats enjoy being crazy and running about. It's the simple things in life.

Photo Every Day #42

Today took a trip to a couple of local animal rescue places to find out more about volunteering. I'm hoping that we hear back soon as I'm really desperate to start gaining experience. I was very tempted to adopt a dog or another cat, but none were really suited to us and our existing pets if I'm honest. Very sad to see so many unwanted animals who are just desperate for a home.

The Pillow Game:

Song Of The Day: Katy Perry - ET
Reason: Adore the make up and styling in this video. Amazing.

Highlight Of The Day: Seeing all the beautiful animals.

Inspiration Of The Day: Being at the rescue center. It made me want to help and to get into nursing even more.

Photo Every Day #35

This evening we have had a nice half hour or so playing with the boys. We also did the last of their spot on treatments for Quigley's mites so hopefully that will well and truly be the end. Quigley seems to be back to his normal self, nice and groomed with no little cuts/sores, so I'm glad he's much happier now. I'm also determined to find them a new even bigger cage, I've seen some huge ones that can fit multiple platforms in so that would be ideal, the only bad side is that they all tend to have wire floors which I do not like at all. The right cage is out there I just need to find it!

Ready To Explore:

Song Of The Day: Grendel - Dirty
Reason: Not listened to Grendel for ages, they were one of the best live bands I've seen though.

Highlight Of The Day: Takeaway Nandos

Inspiration Of The Day: A catalogue from Butlers that my Mum dropped off, it has some really nice stuff and seems decently priced.

Photo Every Day #32

Seeing Pixie makes me really want a puppy. Or another kitten, or a frog, or anything cuddly. However, my next plan is to get some nice fish and maybe some sort of salamander/mudpuppy/axolotl type thing!

Almost Friends:

Song Of The Day: Tulisa - Titanium (David Guetta and Sia Cover)
Reason: She really shows her skills on this cover, it's a shame she doesn't do more stripped back songs.

Highlight Of The Day: Drinks at the pub

Inspiration Of The Day: My ever growing pet wishlist.

Photo Every Day #31

Today I thought I'd make my PED a self portrait since I haven't taken any photos of myself for a while. My hair's getting really long now and has a nice wave to it today after I scrunch dried it. I'm still debating whether to stop trying to get it to have a proper red tint to it and just dye it black again or whether to keep trying with the red. I suppose it's all going to come down to how I feel when I go to buy some hair dye.

Self:

Song Of The Day: Slipknot - Duality
Reason: There was a live version from Download I think on Zane Lowe's radio show on the way home tonight. They are the most amazing band.

Highlight Of The Day: Looking after Pixie and seeing her and the cats taking big steps towards getting on better. They were sleeping a mere foot away from each other and Asami usually doesn't even come in the room when she's here!

Inspiration Of The Day: Film festival research for a film I'm assistant producing on. Makes me want a full time film job asap!

Photo Every Day #23

Today Asami went to the vets to be spayed. No baby Asamis. Sad face. She seems completely normal; running around, playing, fighting, jumping off/on to high things. She's supposed to be taking it easy but no chance! She's already had plenty to eat and drink so it all looks good so far. She's back for a checkup on Friday so fingers crossed she gets the all clear.

Bare Kitty:

Song Of The Day: Lana Del Rey - Born To Die
Reason: Love this song and video. Just love her in general!

Highlight Of The Day: Picking up Asami and knowing she was ok.

Inspiration Of The Day: Just bought an amazing cushion from Dwell. Definately my new favourite home store.

Photo Every Day #12

So after we found out little Quigley had mites I decided that changing the floor/bedding they're on might be a good start to helping him feel better. They were on Kitty's Crumble which I really like as a flooring. It gives a good covering, keeps quite warm, is dust free and has no odour. The geckos are also on it so it was convenient to buy a big bag for all of them to share. The only bad side I found was when the lazy bums didn't want to poo in the litter tray, it sort of blended in and was hard to pick out on a day-to-day basis. It also tended to cover any fresh veg that dropped off the platforms onto it, but that's to be expected when ratties can't keep it in the bowl! I did a good bit of research into what bedding might be best and finally decided to give Care Fresh a go. So far, they've not troubled themselves to get out of bed and have a look, but I'm sure we'll have a verdict by tomorrow.

New Bedding:

Song Of The Day: Feeder - Just The Way I'm Feeling
Reason: It's been stuck in my head all day, I must have listened to that album a million times as a teenager.

Highlight Of The Day: Kitty snuggles with Draco

Inspiration Of The Day: Pomeranian Poof Ball Tote Bag. I need one of these so badly.
