Highlight Of The Day: It finally raining! At least we don't have to water the lawn today! 

Inspiration Of the Day: A Channel 4 documentary called Confessions Of An Alien Abductee. One of the abductees hair was just weird! That was worth watch the programme for if nothing else! It's definitely reassured me that I don't believe in little green men and think most people who claim to have been abducted are just fantasists.

Today has been really productive. We got loads done at work, looked up things for the future and finished it off with a relaxing walk with Stark. We also have our new rat cage set up. It's just over 5 foot tall and a couple of feet wide! It's great as they can properly run about and make the most of all the levels. They seemed to have settled in. The photo has cropped out about another half a foot off the bottom, just so you have an idea how tall it really is!

Highlight Of The Day: Learning more stuff for work. 

Inspiration Of The Day: People who take your advice about pet foods, treats, care etc and it has a positive effect. It's nice to know I'm making a difference.

Today we went to a BBQ at my Mum's house. Stark was very good and he seems to enjoy being around different people. I've also chosen the paint for the main bathroom, it's called soft steel so I'm hoping it looks nice!

Today we went on a picnic with a couple of friends at Marbury Park. We took Stark and he was so good, he didn't mither for food or steal any! He also went swimming in the lake, he goes out really far now and he adores it. It's really building up his fitness too.

We went to Lymm Dam again for our walk this evening. We keep seeing these carvings in the trees and each time we go there seems to be more and more. I don't know if they're supposed to be there but they are pretty to look at.

Today was boiling in work! I think I was close to sweating all my new hair dye off?! But I have two days off now, so I'll try and keep out of the heat as much as possible. We took Stark to Lymm Dam for a walk this evening. We befriended a Labrador who shared her ball, they were both swimming after it in the water and Stark swam out further than he has before. Then we met two collie crosses then two German shepherds with an Akita.  I like Stark meeting other dogs as I want him to be friendly and capable of adapting to new situations. He's doing really well.

Highlight Of The Day: A nice evening walk. 

Inspiration of The Day: Colour charts. Trying to decide what colours to paint our rooms with is definitely not a decision to be taken lightly!

Today our friend moved out of our house and into his own rented place. It's sad that we won't spend as much time with our friend, but I'm glad we can start to properly have time and space to make the house our own.

Today Stark lost his first tooth! Well the first one I've managed to find after its has become unattached, but I think it's actually his second. He's growing up so fast!

Today we went for our next lot of training classes for the Kennel Club Good Citizen Bronze Award. He did really well and it's much easier to get things practiced properly when there's only two of us in the class!

Film Review: Closed For The Season (2010)

 

I recorded this film as I love anything set in abandoned places. Closed For The Season is about a girl, Kristy (Aimee Brooks) who wakes up in a local theme park which she spent time in as a child. She is haunted by past memories as she tries to find her lost teddy and a way out. She is aided by James (Damien Maffei) who's parents were the caretakers. The film is directed by Jay Woelfel.

Today Stark went to the vets to be weighed for his flea treatment and he's now a whopping 11.4kg! He's definitely not my little boy anymore! The nurse said she reckoned he be at the higher end of the usual collie weight bracket as he's so tall. It was nice to have a day off in the sun and to wear a dress instead of my work uniform. So today's PED is of my lovely Hawaiian 50s style dress.

Inspiration Of The Day: Victorian mental institutions. I was watching the new Broadmoor documentary on the CI channel and its really fascinating to see how psychology has developed over the years.

Today has been stupidly hot in work, a mega 32 degrees! Crazy! I'm hoping tomorrow cools down with it being delivery day otherwise I'll loose half my body weight in sweat carrying all the heavy stock around! I've also picked up a few huge bites from insects when I've been out walking the dog. They've come up in to huge welts around 1-2 inches wide/long. They're so itchy! It's nice seeing the sun but I'd prefer it with a bit more breeze and a lot less insects.

Reason: Really like her and want to listen to some more of her stuff. 

Highlight Of The Day: Watching Starky play in the stream.

Inspiration Of The Day: Horoscopes. I only believe them when they say good things that I really want to happen though! My PED is of my Chinese year symbol, which is also interesting too! I'm definitely a real Leo/Dragon child.

Today we had a family BBQ at my Mums. She always puts on a good spread so I'm still stuffed! I've also made my lunch for work tomorrow. I'm starting to try to eat a bit more healthily and to save money instead of buying it all the time, so I have lots of nice salad leftover from the BBQ to take with me. As it was so hot I decided to go for a floaty black skirt with a short front hem and a low back hem, with a black vest top covered by my vintage Hawaiian shirt. It's nice to not by wearing my uniform for a change!

Today was another day where nothing particularly exciting happened. I did have a nice chat about our futures with a friend in work though, so it's given me some more things to think about. Stark's new favourite treat at the moment appears to be jam tarts. He seems to sniff them out from across the room! He's only allowed tiny tastes though, so as not to ruin his super healthy diet!
