Today has been a real gloomy day. The weather has been terrible and it's been dull the entire time. I am very much ready for it to be spring with some warmer weather and lighter evenings. I'm also looking forward to wearing my spring/summer wardrobe as I'm getting bored of trying to find cardigans or coverups that match every outfit.

Today I discovered Draw Something, a game app for iPhones. My friend has just got an iPhone and had downloaded it, so I've now started a game with her. Very late to the party, but I'll be bored of it in a few days no doubt!

Today has been a day of many dead ends in a way. We're trying to get things moving with the house but nothing seems to have actually made any progress. I'm in a fed up mood and have two big itchy bites, one on my arm and the other on my hand. I have no idea where they've come from but I'm hoping more don't appear.

Today we made some more furniture purchases! We've chosen our fitted bedroom, bought some curtains for the front room and also bought a long cabinet for the bathroom. I think once our sofas, dining table and fitted wardrobes all turn up it will feel more like our home as at the moment it still feels as though we're in the flat; our stuff is here but our mark isn't on it. We bought a butcher's table for the kitchen a couple of days ago, which I've wanted for ages! It gives us extra space too which is great as in this kitchen it's all about making the most of the space! It does look a lot bigger now I've cleared most of the boxes though.

So today was my first Tuesday in my new job (straight after a shift at Debs!), it's going well, I seem to be picking everything up and I've met everyone now! I'm starting to get tired and it's only day 8 out of 25 but we'll see how we go.

In other news, we bought Asami a little harness and lead. She doesn't seem to mind the harness at all, but wasn't quite sure what to do when she's on the lead. We did take her outside but she didn't seem to like it at all! She just tried to crawl back towards the door. But it was only her first walk so we did quite well considering.

Yesterday I stretched my 3rd ear piercing on my right earlobe. Only from 1.2mm to 1.6mm but it's a start! I think I just want to get it big enough to put a tiny spiral in it, as I don't want to deform my ears too much! Especially since my earlobes were tiny before I stretched the first 2 sets of piercings. I'd forgotten what that warm, burning sensation was like when it first squeezes through. However, it's still a bit sore today, so I'm hoping I've not been too rough with it by accident. I've not had a new piercing for far too long! I still quite want my nose done and really, really, really miss my wrist piercing. Although, I did want to let it heal a bit more before getting it done again. Decisions, decisions!

Today was another round of sending out audition invitations for 'These Guys', we've started to get some confirmations for the auditions this weekend so I'm looking forward to that! Today's PED is of our new sign. I love old style signs, posters and the like and I love old medicine and medical practices. This was from a shop at Lady Heys, there was also a taxidermy fox that I really wanted but it was too expensive sadly.

Citi Petts - Love In A Riot

In 2011 we filmed a music video for Liverpool based band Citi Petts. It was to accompany their first single 'Love In A Riot' which is now due to be released on 26th March! I really enjoyed making the video at Crash Studios in Liverpool and think it's turned out really well, I'm also glad that the band like it! I really hope they do well and that people pick up on their music, after hearing 'Love In A Riot' about a million times in a row on the shoot date I can honestly say I didn't get sick of hearing it and I felt like dancing every time. Today's PED are more from the set of the Darktown Jubilee music video shoot. It wasn't a full day like yesterday and luckily the weather was a lot sunnier! I didn't get to see a lot of the filming as I was making a mountain of sandwiches this morning, but what I did see looked really good! Can't wait to see how it all turns out!

Today's PED is from my time on set today. I was a Production Runner for the filming of Manchester based band Darktown Jubilee's first music video. The video is being directed by Jason Wingard and Gino Evans, who won this years Virgin Media Short competition! Impressive! It also stars Steve Evets.

I'm not sure exactly what the concept of the video is as I've not heard the song, but there was filming of scenes reminiscent of the summer time looting and riots. The scenes were so realistic that locals informed the police! Luckily the producers had sorted out filming permits and let them know what was going on so no one was arrested! It was wet and miserable weatherwise, but all in all a good day.

Top Ten: Moments of 2011

Here are my top ten moments of 2011, in no particular order:

1. 1 year anniversary with the boy - mile stone in our relationship!



2. Deciding to move out with the boy - Buying all the stuff that we'll need and fantasising about buying extravagant things we can't afford has been fun, just can't wait for the actual moving in day!

3. Finishing my MA - Finishing my MA was sad and I'm still gutted that I'm no longer a student after 5 years at uni, but I'm proud to say I've accomplished a lot in terms of education.

 

4. London - Our short break to London in May was one of the best trips to London I've been on. We got to eat at some amazing restaurants and to see things I've not seen before.

5. Riding - Starting up riding lessons again on a regular basis has been awesome to the point of making me seriously consider a career with horses! I've got an amazing teacher in Melissa, and get to ride some awesome horses such as Minnie, Dennis, Blue, Zack etc

 

6. Buying my Canon 550D and Final Cut Pro - Both have given me a chance to get that little closer to my film making dreams!

7. Citi Petts Music Video - Making a video that will actually see the light of day for a really good band with a class song makes me feel that all our hard work will pay off eventually.

8. Project Black aka Vanished - By far my best/most improved film accomplishment to date.





9. Longshot Film Festival - Having my work shown to a roomful of people was scary, but I can't wait to do it again.

10. Good Laughs With Good People - All the people in my life who I get to spend time with have also made my year bearable.
