Photo Every Day #260

Well today has been awesome, but this evening terrible. This morning we met up with the boy's friend from work and went with her to see her horses. They're gorgeous and so well looked after! We had a short ride, but sadly within 1 minute of getting into the school the horse I was on, Seeky, decided to spook at something and completely caught me off guard so off I went! It wasn't a bad fall and I think poor Seeky was more freaked out that I'd come off than I was! My bum/bottom of my spine is majorly aching though, dreading what it will be like in the morning! No serious harm done though and we had a decent 'getting to know each other' ride. After we'd finished at the horses, we went for some nice pub food. It was a nice meal and was very filling! We also got caught in torrential rain and had to run back to the car. It was nice to meet someone the boy gets on with so well and she was a very nice girl, so hopefully we can go along again.

However, after we got home from visiting my parents we decided to clean the rats out as usual. We had them on the sofa whilst we washed their platforms and toys etc and out of nowhere Jacques decided to try and jump the 3 feet back into his cage. However, he missed, hit the side of the cage and fell a good 2 feet to the floor. He was shocked and just lay under the bookcase for ages, until we managed to get him back into his cage. We noticed him limping and decided to take him to the vet as it's not like Jacques to be so quiet and still. The vet said it looks like he's either damaged his ligaments or fractured his knee. He's had some painkillers and he's home for the night to see if the swelling goes down, but he has to go back in the morning for x-rays and then we'll see what damage has been done. Poor Jacques.

Trip To The Vets:

Song Of The Day: KMFDM - Hau Ruck
Reason: Fave KMFDM song, been listening to a fair bit of their stuff recently

Highlight Of The Day: A nice day with horses and hopefully what will turn out to be a new friend!

Today it was the cast and crew premier of Boom In Shot! The film is super awesome and funny!! I'm really glad it's turned out so well and I hope it gets the recognition it deserves. I'm also loving the fact that I have a cameo!! Haha, it's worth seeing it for that reason alone. You can watch the trailer in the meantime, but hopefully it'll be in some festivals very soon! I also bought this little beauty today. It's a retro style petrol pump. The front opens and there are little shelves inside. It's super cute and goes with my retro soda cap clock and diner pay phone.

Route 66:

Song Of The Day: Halocene - Boom In Shot Theme Song
Reason: One of the only short films with it's own theme tune!

Highlight Of The Day: Seeing Boom In Shot for the first time.

Super fast one today. This is from my evening out.

Moi:

Song Of The Day: Azealia Banks - 212
Reason: Love this girl, so pretty too

Highlight Of The Day: End of the working week for me!

Photo Every Day #257

Today I decided to try and take a photo based on symmetry. Below is my attempt! The line of symmetry is straight through the middle of the photo. It's the top of our radiator (which I've noticed looks a bit grubby), which I've tried to make look as though it's vanishing into the distance. I like how one side of the radiator has come up lighter and the other one dark, it gives more contrast and makes  the symmetry rows stand out more.

Symmetry:

Song Of The Day: Katy Rose - Because I Can
Reason: Really good artist, keep trying to find her cd to buy but can't seem to!

Highlight Of The Day: Buying a really nice present for a friend from work who's leaving.

Today was the first night of college. It was just one of those basic intro days but my mind is already whirring and I've got a list of potential themes for my portfolios already. I'm going to try to take my next few PEDs in accordance to several 'rules' of photography that we briefly ran through today. So be prepared for photos showing things that I'm learning!

Oh Deer:

Song Of The Day: Bikini Kill - Rebel Girl
Reason: Just had this stuck in my head all day

Highlight Of The Day: First day at college!

Photo Every Day #255

Tomorrow I am back to college to start my photography course! I'm really looking forward to it and can't wait to get stuck in. I'm also interested to see who else is on the course as it'll be nice if there are some like minded people there. I'll update tomorrow with how it went. Tonight I have been out with the girls from work as two of them are leaving. We just went to weatherspoons but it really is nice to spent time chatting with them when we know we won't be told off for trying to talk in the fitting room!

Returning To Education:

Song Of The Day: Deftones - Back To School
Reason: Nice school themed song...

Highlight Of The Day: Going out with the work girls

Photo Every Day #254

This is the chest that we bought from the carboot yesterday. It's a good size, nearly as high as the bed and plenty deep enough for all my camera gear that I intend to keep in it. It's nice and rusty and looks as though it was forgotten about in an abandoned building for years. It's like my very own piece of abandonment right in my house and it's beautiful.

Lock:

Song Of The Day: Nine Inch Nails - Hurt
Reason: If I could listen to songs in an abandoned place, this would be one of the first to be played.

Highlight Of The Day: Playing with my ratties

Today we went to a huge carboot sale at Chelford. I've not been to a carboot sale for years and even then I've only been to an odd one. We did get a couple of bargains, we picked up a huge old chest for £18, a book for £1.50, 3 little Wade ornaments for £5 and best of all a zoo tycoon expansion pack for a mere £1! I love Zoo Tycoon and similar games; rollercoaster tycoon, theme park world, sim city etc. So it's nice to be able to relive my childhood memories.

Dinosaurs!:

Song Of The Day: Plan B - Ill Manors
Reason: Hopefully we'll get be going to see the accompanying film with a producer Q+A whilst we're off in October!

Highlight Of The Day: Finding some bargains.
