Today I went for a meeting about working on a short comedy horror film, the script sounds really good and I can't wait to start shooting! Whilst in Manchester, I also went to the Slipknot photo exhibit by Paul Harris at the Manchester Photographic Gallery. It has really enforced how much I adore Slipknot and they are still my ultimate favourite band! I picked up a signed photo book too! We also went into Liverpool to Jamie's Italian. It was actually bad this time, super poor and slow service, uncooked seafood in my dinner and it just generally had an unpleasant after taste. I've really been put off and won't be going again.

Today I spent an hour enouraging the ratties to venture into the outside (of the cage) world. They were eating peas off my hand but having to reach outside the door to get them, Quigley was the bravest and managed to climb nearly all the way onto my hand but chickened out coming any further!

My little rat babies are getting so big already! They've already grown and seem to be quite settled into their new cage now. The love digging about and rearanging everything and also love throwing all of their bedding out of their house! Jacques and Quigley have also started to go a bit lighter grey on top, and all three of them are bigger. They're getting used to us fairly quickly, we've been feeding them frozen peas in the palm of our hands and today I managed to get Quigley to climb on to me and eat some peas! He also climbed up my arm and had a good think about whether he fancied coming of out his cage, which he decided against in the end, maybe in a couple of days! I really love having them and they're great pets!

Super late one today as I've been doing the stocktake at work, fun times! We were allowed to wear our own clothes which makes it seem less like work but it was strange coming out and it being so quiet! I've started wearing my padlock necklace again, although I've put it on a normal silver chain rather than the thick chain it was on so that I can wear it in a more subtle way.

Today myself and Stu made some stop motion animation clips. We actually spent most of our time making our 'Morphs' out of plasticine but did make a couple of short clips. We're aiming to practice some more and then make a 'proper' short piece. The rat babies are settling in well today, they seem to have a bit of a mad hour or two of running about and feeding at around 8pm and they've settled into their little wooden cottage. I've been trying to get them used to me by feeding them bits of lettuce which they seem to love. They weren't too mad on the cucumber we bought especially just for them though! Quigley also went into the hammock for a quick run around, I'm not sure he was too convinced by it yet though!!

Today Facebook has bought Instagram (one of my favourite iPhone apps, ever!) for $1billion. That's a pretty hefty sum of money for a little company with just a phone app, so huge congrats to them. I've ready several articles commenting that apps like Instagram and Hipstamatic (another of my personal faves) are killing 'proper' photography. I have to say I disagree. I love film and photography and am interested in anything visual. Although I think of photography as just a fun hobby of mine, I do want to get better at it and am interested in retro cameras, toy cameras, lomography etc. As you may know, I've recently been given a Praktica BCX and this is really the first proper film camera I've ever had so I'm just adoring it at the moment and having fun experimenting. I can honestly say that if it wasn't for my initial interest in photography followed by the fact that I was able to use apps such as Instagram that I may not be the proud owner of that Praktica at this moment. Instagram allows me, and its millions of other users to, experiment super cheaply and is fun to use to make my photos a little different from the norm. So, good luck to Instagram, here's hoping you only change for the better!

After making up with one of my best friends and a nice meal at good old Nandos, it's been a decent, if not slow, day. It's also been an eye opener to how two faced silly, immature little girls can be. Hasn't anyone heard of being professional in the workplace?? On a lighter note, aren't the toys you get in Kinder Eggs rubbish now! What happened to the cute collectables et al?

Woo! Today is my 100th Photo Every Day post! I wish I'd have remembered this earlier in the day as I would have tried to take more photos for a special post. Boo! I have however been taking a few photos with my Lomography Fisheye and my Praktica so stay tuned! Today we went to the Chester Food and Drink Festival which was really good. There was loads of stalls and plenty of things to try. We watched a cooking demonstration too and the boy was selected to taste test the final dishes. We ended up buying some homemade fudge, some wood pigeon breast, venison burgers, some honey and 'the world's best knife sharpener' (which in fairness is pretty damn good). We also got more easter eggs from the boy's family, so we'll be super fat for the forseable future.

So, today was Easter and here is mine and the boy's easter stash! My mum also bought me a nice heart shaped picnic basket, it's very cute! I spent the evening sorting out my vintage cameras, a Praktica BCX and an Olympus Trip 35, and reading manuals so that I can try and get the best out of them. I've also managed to find two rolls of expired film so I'll be using those in the Praktica and my Lomography Fisheye tomorrow when we go to the Chester Food and Drink Festival.
