Photo Every Day #186

Today has been far too hot in work and not sunny enough outside. Bummer. Maybe tomorrow will be brighter.

Photo Every Day #115

Super late one today as I've been doing the stocktake at work, fun times! We were allowed to wear our own clothes which makes it seem less like work but it was strange coming out and it being so quiet! I've started wearing my padlock necklace again, although I've put it on a normal silver chain rather than the thick chain it was on so that I can wear it in a more subtle way.

Song Of The Day: Green Day - 86

Photo Every Day #6

Today's PED is of a cute necklace with a panda charm on it. Steven's older sister got it for me this xmas and I wore it for the first time today, many people said how cute it was!

"Panda Cubs: How are baby pandas born?

When a giant panda is first born, it is tiny. It weighs between four and six ounces and is about the size of a stick of butter. At birth, it is pink, blind, helpless and hairless. During this time, the mother cares for it closely, often cradling it in her paw and keeping it close to her chest. The cub doesn’t open its eyes until it is six week old, and it doesn’t walk until it is three months.
Cubs nurse for about nine months but they stay with their mothers for a long time after that. In fact, it can be up to three years before a giant panda cub strikes out on its own."

Cotillard, Dressmaking & Parrots

First off, just seen this video:

The video features Marion Cotillard singing (with Franz Ferdinand) 'Eyes Of Mars', which is a new music video for Dior's Lady Rouge campaign. I'm a big fan of Marion Cotillard as I think shes a classically beautiful French woman, I really wish I had her mouth! It's so pretty! I think Dior and Cotillard work well together and she always looks beautiful in their campaigns, in particular my favourite photo below:

In other news, it was the last of my dress making classes last night *tear* and my dress is still not finished! However I am signed up for the next set of classes that starts later in the month, so its all good. I never really realised how hard making clothes to a good standard was. Not saying that I thought it was going to be a breeze, but I definately have a new found respect for designers! I'm really happy with the way that my dress it taking shap though, I've finished the front half and am half way through sewing together the back and the full skirt sections, I'm just praying it fits!! I'm thinking of making a waistcoat for the next set of classes, so hopefully that will turn out well! I'm really enjoying it, and hopefully will make a good few pieces of clothing over the coming months so I can develop my skills further. I'll get some photos up of the dress as soon as its finished.

Lastly, I found the most awesome necklace and holder from Tithi Kutchamuch which can be found here http://www.tithi.info/new/main.htm under 'Companion Parrot'. I love taxidermy and taxidermy accessories and to me this is reminiscent of that practise. The necklace itself is a long chain with the parrots head, heart, stomach and intestines featured as charms. When not being worn the necklace can be kept in the parrots body, just like the real organs!! But its very cute nonetheless!
