Photo Every Day #258

Today we went to the Sealife Center Manchester. It's only recently opened and it's been a while since I've been to an aquarium. Now that I know a lot more about fish it's far more interesting; I'd love to be an animal keeper there!! The best thing we saw was probably the huge sea turtle that they have in their main tank. I've never seen one before and he was beautiful! The enclosures were all really nice and they had a good range of fish and sea creatures. We had a behind the scenes tour with a member of staff called Phil. He was really great and told us lots of interesting information. We also got to see a snake necked turtle which was in isolation as he was being naughty and trying to breed with another species of turtle whilst upsetting her male partner!

Today's PED is litte Dave the tortoise having his weekly bath! He doesn't really seem to like it but he does benefit from it so I'm afraid he needs to keep bathing!

Today's PED is on a fallen telephone line (I think it's a telephone line anyway!). I've not edited it or anything, this is just exactly as I shot it on my lovely Canon 550D. I love the industrial look and the little wheel/spinner type things on the top. I love the browny, rust colour as well. I think I may tweek it a little to better bring out the colours.

Today we went to Willow Pool Garden Center, possibly one of my favourite local afternoons out. Willow Pool is full of random things such as broken Victorian style prams, old machinery and my personal favourite a giant My Little Pony from Blackpool illuminations (see one of my older posts for a pic of this!) Today it was rather empty of stuff which was a bit disappointing. But we did have some food from their tea rooms which was really nice. Huge portions too! It was also my Gran and Grandad's 50th wedding anniversary, so we all had a meal at my Mum's house.
