Today I was back at work as usual. Then I had a meeting to run through some technical stuff with the 'These Guy's' crew. I spent the rest of the day sorting out my iTunes (I'm obsessed with organising it). It's really one of my favourite 'indoor' things to do, it makes me feel relaxed to know there's some sort of order to it. Probably a little crazy but keeps me happy so what's the harm?! I've been listening to a whole load of stuff whilst organising, mostly Lana Del Rey, From First To Last, Ed Sheeran, Skrillex and Swedish House Mafia. It still completely blows my mind that Sonny Moore from From First To Last is Skrillex! I have no idea why, I supposed it was because he was one of my teen 'poster boys' and it's strange to think of bands that were predominant earlier in life becoming relevant later in life too. It's like you forget that musicians have a life, grow up and change as well as us.

Today was day 2 of my make up course, we focused more on eyes and colour for eyes. Was good and useful to learn some new techniques. I'm hoping that I do try to stick with new methods to jazz up my everyday make up, it gets boring doing the same thing every time! We also got a rather swish certificate. I'd love to do a longer course but sadly they're too expensive right now, especially since I've spent all that money on uni fees. Maybe in the future! But for now, I'm looking forward to practising my new skills on friends (read: victims) and being able to use them on my next film.

Today I've been at a make up course at the North West Media Make Up School. Today was day 1 of 2 and we learnt basic daytime looks, which included bases, contouring and light weight eye shadows (ie just a nice bit of eye shadow rather than going OTT with it). The PED is of my basic make up kit that I use myself on a daily basis (when I can be bothered!).
Here is my day to day make up kit (not all of it is shown):
Base:
Translucent loose powder, usually a cheap brand as I just tend to rub it off accidentally anyway. Plus I love making the most of my pale complexion rather than caking it in orange foundation. I use a big kabuki type brush to spread it evenly over my face and neck (slag lines are never a good look!).
Eyebrows:
Dark brown eye shadow, again a cheap brand as it seems silly to waste good eye shadow to fill in my eyebrows!
Cheeks:
Benefit 'Dallas' blusher gives me a bit of a glow without going OTT and stops me looking like I'm ill which would probably scare the customers at work.
Lips:
Generally nothing, it just rubs off but after today I may invest in a lip stain for special occasions.
Eyes:
I wear the most make up on my eyes. Generally I'll wear a liquid liner, usually Rimmel or Urban Decay, on my water line and/or along my lashline on my eyelid. If I'm going a bit heavier I'll use pencil underneath to dramatise it. Then I use Benefit eye cream in a nude shade all over my eyelid with a darker shade in the corners to widen my eye. Then I'll use loads of mascara as I quite like the slightly clumpy look. Currently I'm using Maybelline Cat Eyes mascara and Rimmel Max Curves mascara, usually I'll do a couple of coats of Cat Eyes followed by a couple of coats of Max Curves.
Extras:
If I'm doing a heavier eye look I'll use Benefits eye primer which gives a good base and makes it last quite well. I'll also use eyelash curlers every couple of days as my eyelashes are so long and need maintaining.
Make Up Kit:
Song Of The Day: Avril Lavigne - Fall To Pieces
Reason: Love a good old love themed song every so often.

Today I went shopping in Liverpool. I bought a nice vintage bleach denim jacket and a confectionary thermometer which I'm hoping to use so that I can experiment making fudge, caramel etc!
We had lunch in Jamie's Italian and it was really good food. Me & my mum shared crispy squid for starters and then I had a prawn linguine and she had a seafood risotto and we shared some garlic chips. It was super food, especially the squid, good service, a nice layout and I would recommend going if you get the chance.

Well this is my 100th post! Whoo! And I'm still going with Photo Every Day!
It's been a funny week really and I'm glad it's the weekend, which looks like it will be busy and my little legs won't be able to recover from over working this week! I also need to get on top of house things such as finishing my endless stacks of washing and filling the fridge again!
And The Cupboard Was Bare:
Song Of The Day: Caro Emerald - A Night Like This
Reason: It makes me think of old black and white films!

The washing machine is finally here!!! I've done about 4 washes since I came home from work and there's still another 3 at least to go! But I'm glad that it's finally sorted even though it was far too much faffing around when it should have been simple. Now to get Sky tv working...

Today we held another production meeting about 'These Guys'. We further discussed shot lists and work flow. It's really starting to come together visually now. Me and the boy also had pancakes as we didn't get a chance the day before. It took me ages to get a photo where the pancake was in the air!

Today I finally got to see the nearly finished 'Vanished' (aka Project Black)! The film we've been working on for months!! We're so close to being able to release it and I'm super proud of everyone who was involved! We'll also be launching our company website soon, so stay tuned!

Today we went pony trekking! It was at Mill Farm in Stockport and was one of the best treks I've ever been on! I went with the boy and his little sister, who both seemed to enjoy themselves. I couldn't rate it highly enough; cute, well behaved horses, friendly staff and stunning countryside surroundings. I hope to go again soon as it really was an enjoyable day. I've got a few photos so we've got a bit of a photo story again!

Stop Motion Animation
Today I decided to finally get my bum into gear and make a basic stop motion short film. I've always liked stop motion, with films from people like the Brothers Quay and Jan Svankmajer being some of my ultimate favourites. We also recently watched some funny ones at Filmonik 56.
I wanted to keep it really simple as I'm still learning Final Cut Pro X ((I'm an Avid girl) and didn't want to get caught up in trying to create some sort of masterpiece that I wouldn't be able to achieve at this stage. I used my cute hippo salt shakers to star in a little story where they chase each other about.
I shot it with my Canon 550D and overall it took around 2 and a half hours from start to finish.
Overall I'm pretty pleased with it, it being my first attempt and all. I know that some of it is out of focus and the lighting is quite flickery (I think this was because I kept leaving my arm in the way and was blocking the light) but I've already learn a fair bit on how to make the next one better.

Today's PED is of my latest house purchase! It's from work and is part of the Ben De Lisi range. It's a wire stag. Anyone who knows me knows that I love taxidermy!! So this is the closest I'll get to having some without actually killing anything (which I'm against!). I've also bought the Morphy Richards toaster that matches my kettle so I'm happy that my kitchen is pretty much complete.

Today has been a slow day to be honest. But a good chat with an old friend perked me up considerably. Today's PED is of the bruise I've had for nearly 2 weeks. I came across the site Polyvore by accident really. The site is fashion based and allows users to create fashion 'collections' in whatever theme, style etc they fancy. I instantly thought that this would be useful for creating mood boards not only for my own outfits but also whilst I am trying to create character styles for my films. I thought I'd give it a go, so this is my first attempt! It features pretty dresses and some Vivienne Westwood shoes that I do actually own! Maybe you'll see more in the future...

Today has been eventful. We had to go to the estate agents and complain (yet again) about our sky/washing machine problems. They were really helpful so hopefully things will start to sort out asap. We also went shopping and bought a new microwave, only to find that when we got it out of the box the plate was smashed and it had been used! Gross. We took it back and swapped it for another one. I also cooked at my first 'dinner party', ie my mum and stepdad came round for tea. The boy made the starter of crayfish tails and prawns on a bed of lettuce with chilli mayo. Then I made the main; salt and pepper chicken with ginger and honey noodles/veg. I also made another syrup cake, but a big one this time. I'm very proud since I made it all from scratch!! During our busy day we did make time to stop off and have my car cleaned too!

Today has been a sad day, I've finally, after two and a half happy years, had to remove my wrist piercing. I honestly feel like part of my identity has been taken from me. Gutted. However, we went to Filmonik tonight which was really good! I'm feeling inspired to make a short film this week whilst I'm off, maybe even stop motion style. There was also a special clip shown from the feature film I'll be working on. More about that when I have proper internet access though!

Today I have been making a casserole for the first time! It still isn't finished so I'll upload a photo or two tomorrow. I have however been editing some pictures I took at Chester Zoo in January. I liked the little ponds in the tropical realm so decided to see if I could get a photo of the reflection of all the plants in the water. Then I just tweeked the colour and saturation in GIMP.

Today was a super productive day considering it was my day off from work! I applied for some jobs, read some interesting articles and went to a meeting in Manchester about starting work on a feature film. More about that when I have time to write a proper blog post though! Next week I have another week off work so I'm trying to find things to keep me busy. One task will be to properly sort out my room at my mum's house. I need to be brutal and throw away the junk and take the last few bits to the apartment, such as my Egyptian ornaments. This was an Egyptian cat that I painted back in the day.

Today we went to China town in Manchester to get a new wok. We managed to fine the perfect sized one for a mere £6!! Bargain. We also picked up some sauces and spices, I'll definitely be going there again as its so cheap and will encourage me to cook better meals. I made sweet and soy pork for tea which turned out pretty well really! For lunch we had food at one of the Chinese restaurants which was really nice too.

My Top Ten Films
I've finally decided to get round to writing a blog about my top ten films. Now being a film lover and film studies graduate, this is subject to much change! However, most of the films on this list have been my very favourites for a very long time. The list is in no particular order, apart from the first one, The Shining, known to me as the greatest film of all time!
1. The Shining (1980)
I adore everything about this film. It is perfect in my eyes and I would never let anyone tell me otherwise. I adore Stanley Kubrick and his obsessive attention to detail. I love Jack Nicholson and his believable psychotic breakdown. I love the massive, isolated Overlook Hotel. I love little Danny. I love the blood elevator scene. I literally would kill whoever it took to be able to say I'd made this film.

Today I have spend most of the day doing nothing in particular! I applied for the odd job, ate junk and surfed the web. We're pretty much all sorted at the apartment now, just some stuff from the boy's house to get then we've got everything. I'm taking some odd bits back today, including my awesome punk dog portrait. I found it around 6-7 years ago at an antiques shop and paid a mere £7 for it. At the time I was heavily into punk, I'm not so much anymore, but I do still love a good punk music session in the summer!
